What do you think of this bridal makeup?

Hi, I went for my trial makeup today and I want to know people's opinions. Please be honest because I didn't pick the colors (my fiances sister is the makeup artist and she picked it). Thank you!!

I totally agree with everyone who is saying the blue shadow is taking away from your incredible blue eyes. As others have stated, browns and earth tones will really make your blue eyes stand out!

Just because she's a make up artist, doesn't mean she's a color expert. I had a makeover at Ulta last fall, and the ';artist'; insisted on using PINK to bring out the BLUE in my eyes. My eyes are actually a green-gray, and I told her I wished they were more green, but she was insistant that I needed to bring out the blue. I looked like my eyes were infected...it was horrible!

Hopefully you can suggest your future sister in law use a different color without hurting her feelings, and hopefully she's not a tempermental ';artist';What do you think of this bridal makeup?
It looks nice and suits you - but it is more what I would think you should wear for going out to a club and having a bit of fun! Not formal wedding makeup.

I totally agree with the others on the neutral colours - brown eyeshadow will make your eyes stand out more. Also a little more brown in the lips will help them stand out too - the pink is just a bit too close to your skin colour. It doesn't need to be a 'darker' colour - just needs *more* colour.
It does look really pretty, but I think you could make slight changes that would really make your great features pop. Mainly, your shadow should be reconsidered. Because it's so similar to your actual eye colour it really just mutes your eyes and blends them into the rest of your face, rather than making them pop and look stunning. For blue eyes, browns really work well. Try a medium brown on the lid, with a bit of a darker shade in the creases. Cover from the crease to brow bone in a nice taupe or vanilla shade, perhaps with a bit of shimmer to give you an extra glow. Top your eyes off with a brown liner and dark mascara and your eyes will really become more of a focal point.

You're so beautiful, all the best in finding something that will enhance and bring out your natural beauty!
You're so pretty, and I feel like this makeup is doing nothing to make your features stand out. All you notice is ';wow, that's some blue eyeshadow';. I don't think that the pale blue eyeshadow is flattering to your coloring. I also have blue eyes- brown eyeshadow would look much better on you %26amp; really make your eyes pop. You want people to notice your eyes, not the makeup. Also, you look like you need more mascara %26amp; a little more blush on your cheeks. The eyeliner looks good, though. Congrats %26amp; good luck!
I think it looks good. Remember, you want your makeup to be a little more dramatic on your wedding day so that you are able to see it in pictures kinda. ( you don't want to look like you have no makeup on) Just the illusion of a flawless face. My only suggestion is to add blush (or more, you can't tell) and maybe a more dramatic eye. Otherwise it looks great.
I'm going to be totally honest with you. You are very pretty and have gorgeous blue eyes. The greenish blue shadow not only does nothing for your complexion, but it washes out your pretty eyes. If you want light colors, try purples. Purple is really best for green eyes, but if you want to stay away from smokey, then try it. But my first suggestion is a smokey eye. And it doesn't have to be with black. Black, I think, might be too harsh for you anyway. Maybe do smokey with chocolate browns and golds. Your eyes will stand out like crazy and look just gorgeous in your photos.

Good Luck and have fun on your wedding day. =)
I think it looks good, the blue sets off your eyes and you don't want to have a dark lipstick as that would look 'old woman-ish' and take the attention from your eyes. If I give any constructive criticism, it would be to define the eyebrows a bit more, give them a straighter line, fill in where the hairs are a little sparse.
No, no, no. You are such a pretty girl, and this makeup is not even doing you justice. That blue is distracting from your beautiful eyes. I would go with a much more natural look, like a soft taupe or a light chocolate eyeshadow. That blue isn't very flattering. I hope you're not offended, but I'm just being honest!
I am going to be brutally honest....I don't like it at all. Yes, your eyes stand out, but I don't think necessarily in a good way. Have your makeup more natural looking on your eyes, browns and taupes would be good, maybe a little pink for your green eyes. And your lips need some color, they are so washed out and just blend in with your skin.
your a very pretty girl that being said i have two things to say your rather shiney in that picture so a little more foundation or powder what ever you prefer or some oil blotters would help you i think in the wedding pictures, you have really pretty light colored eyes and i think the eye shadow could have been a little darker to help them pop a bit but that's my option there.
Ditch the blue. Something richer will look better on you, and will really make your eyes pop in the photos. Browns/golds would look great. Keep in mind, you want to wear slightly exaggerated makeup so it shows nicely in photos.

Also, you should be sure to dust on some translucent powder to nix any shine; or, try blotting papers. That way your face won't be shiny in photos. Good luck!
The lips and cheek colors are nice, but the eye makeup is WAY too much. Go for something more neutral.

Suggestions (I have these bookmarked for my own wedding, and you have a similar skin tone to mine):

The flash is a bit too bright so it's hard to say for sure.

My first impression was that your eyes have too much blue going on. Something in taupes or more neutral eye shadow would be better.

It looks like your lips are a bit too neutral. A wee big more colour and/or shine would be better.
its pretty but i actually think you would look better with something different from your eye color. browns look amazing with blue eyes. maybe brown eye liner instead of the black. and i think a little bit of contrast would be better. it all kind if blends in..

that make up would be great with someone with darker eyes.
You are very pretty! Eyes should be done in neutrals (browns). Your skin is very shiny, so you need a good loose powder to use. (However, maybe that was just the photo?) I'd go with a bit darker pink lipstick, too - just to stand out a bit more.
Blue Eyes

Most people think that blue eyes alone can stand out but that isn’t always the case. A common mistake is using blue colors that are close to the original shade of the iris itself. This can result in making blue eyes appear dull. To brighten up dull blue eyes or emphasize piercing shades of blue, opt for taupe, lavender, camel, lilac and other shades of browns and purples to make your eyes appear bluer than they really are. Choose your mascara color wisely. If you can get away with black, make sure not to use too much or else you’ll end up with tarantula eyes—less is more in this case. Instead of using liquid or pencil to line your eyes, use a darker shade of eye shadow as your liner for a fine or smudged look.

The Best Eye Shadow Colors for Blue Eyes

As a general rule, those with blue eyes should look for eye makeup in gray, violet, taupe, purple, and deep blue. Many have found using a dark shade of blue will actually bring out the more natural blue tones in your eyes; giving you a brighter and more vibrant look.

If you are looking for an edgier or more dramatic evening look, mixing black liner with a bright blue will give you a classic “ smoky” effect. You can also throw in some silver, fuschia, or turquoise if you are going out and want a funky nighttime feel.

Those with blue eyes have the distinct advantage of being able to wear a wide array of eyeshadow colors without a lot of mishaps. Blue eyes are agreeable to many shades, however, the ones listed above are the ones proven to be among the best.

Violets and lavenders are most recommended for those possessing a combination of baby blues and blonde hair. This is because a light purple is the most flattering for most blondes who tend to have fairer skin than those with darker hair.

You can use violet on the creases of your eyelids as well as on the lid in general. A lighter lavender above the crease will give you a more dramatic look for evenings. More neutral colors are ideal for daytime, but it's always fun to wear purple no matter what the time or season!

For those blessed with naturally red hair, brown shades will tend to work better on your blue eyes. Since your hair is already such a vibrant color, your skin tone and eyes will demand a more natural looking shadow.

Tans and browns can flatter the shape and shade of your eyes without overpowering your hair or other features. In the evenings, adding a gold shimmer is a great finishing touch for those with gorgeous, fiery hair and contrasting blue eyes.
It's nice, except the lipcolor needs to be a bit darker, since it washes you out.

Honestly, I recommend a more natural look. That way your photos will look timeless.
Smoky eyes suits you best but try to use other color instead of blue. (^-^)
Brown eye shadow should be more matching for your attractive blue eyes I think!
I think the blue is pretty cold looking and not flattering to your skin tone. Go for neutrals - browns. And I always think blue eyeshadow looks so old fashioned.
Brown with blue eyes is always the best!!
i think you should try a different eye shadow like pink or brown. you need some color on your lips also. you look very pretty though.
Sorry but yikes. It's so.. blue. Sorry but it looks kind of stripper-ish
I think it looks great on you
I think it looks good
go for a more natural look
