I used to have such a decision like u too!! haha...
In the end, i didnt choose these 2 courses. A beautian friend told me that the course is only a skill %26amp; practice can make the skill perfect... What that is most important is the products i'm going to use on people! So i listen to her %26amp; got myself the World Top 5 skincare %26amp; Cosmetic brand, Artistry. The products are good %26amp; i get to attend the skin care/makeup %26amp; hairstyling course too! Most importantly, the course fee is very very cheap... less than $200 if im not wrong.. plus Artistry is international company over 80 over countries!
However, its still your own decision afterall.. i just wanna share my experiences with u only!

How can I do my makeup for my Cousin's wedding? Im in the bridal party.?
The wedding is in June and the colors are Burgundy and Navy. The bridesmaid dresses are long navy dresses. We are going to be wearing silver rhinestone jewlery and silver shoes with rhinestone accent as well.
I don't know what color pallette (makeup) to wear .

Actually most weddings I have ever been in we have always went and had our makeup done...either at a Salon that offers that service or a makeup counter ...like Lauder or MAC or Clinique .....I would call ahead of time and make an appointment because it is a busy time of year for them ...Or you could just check and see where the Bride is going and you could get it done at the same place. Since it is such a special occasion and so much will be going on....I would go and have it professionally done ....

so i have a birdal shower coming up in about a month and i really wanan lok classy but ,not have too much makeup were people would look t you first glance and relize your wearig makeup,

JC Penny's Salons are also a great place to go. Any of your local salons. Check your phone directory for a list of salons, call them and don't forget to ask for a discount. Like if you bring them a party of 10 paying guest can they do the lucky bride for free or something. It never hurts to ask. If they say they can't do that, they will probably at least offer you a discount. Remember to check with more than one place as some businesses are more customer oriented than others.

I am getting married in couple of months. I need some advice on foundation and makeup. I have slightly dusky complexion and i want to look fair on my wedding day. Suggest me for some good foundation that would boost my colour and give a bright look on my face with makeup.
I usually apply natural beige color foundation from Loreal. Any suggestions are welcome.Bridal makeup help?
Some Great Tips:
1.Choose a light reflecting foundation, or mix ur foundation with highlighter before u apply.
2.Dont forget ur powder compact, for shine-free photos.
3.Make sure ur mascara is water proof, for obvious reasons. Since waterproof mascara is apt to be gunky, comb through your lashes with an old toothbrush.
4.Lipstick with brown tones can look really flat in photos. Not a good choice.
5.Stick with cream blush to warm up ur skin. It lasts longer an you'll have lots of other things on ur mind besides touch-ups.
6.Keep ur chin up, its the most flattering angle.
PLAN-AHEAD TIPS:
1.If you plan to wear flowers in ur hair, apply hairspray before you put the flowers in, or else the spray will wilt the flowers.
2.When you do a test run for ur bridal makeup, wear a white T-shirt to make sure the palette you've chosen will flatter you in ur wedding gown!

I think for bridal Make-up I would see if you could find a make-up artist who does airbrushing... It really is amazing and it last for twelve hours it won't smudge / sweat off or anything.. that and it leave the skin looking flawless.
but another trick you could try is using your regular foundation if it is a cream or water base set it with a translucent powder than top it with a luminizer powder which can be found here : http://www.sephora.com/browse/section.jhtml?categoryId=C13431 it'll give you a bit of a sparkle while gently lighten your face
as well if your doing your own make up do a run through just so you know exactly how things work, and if you have sephora or any department store go in and tell them what you want to do and they wil definately help you out.

Bridal makeup suggestions for Asian skin?
I am an Asian, have sensitive skin. I don't wear much makeup, I just use little foundation and press-powder from ';Perspectives';, It does make me look much more tanned which i don't like.
I am thinking of getting professional bridal makeup for my wedding in summer and may be try to change brands. What should I try? Mary Kay or anything else.

I totally agree with everyone who is saying the blue shadow is taking away from your incredible blue eyes. As others have stated, browns and earth tones will really make your blue eyes stand out!
Just because she's a make up artist, doesn't mean she's a color expert. I had a makeover at Ulta last fall, and the ';artist'; insisted on using PINK to bring out the BLUE in my eyes. My eyes are actually a green-gray, and I told her I wished they were more green, but she was insistant that I needed to bring out the blue. I looked like my eyes were infected...it was horrible!
Hopefully you can suggest your future sister in law use a different color without hurting her feelings, and hopefully she's not a tempermental ';artist';What do you think of this bridal makeup?
It looks nice and suits you - but it is more what I would think you should wear for going out to a club and having a bit of fun! Not formal wedding makeup.
I totally agree with the others on the neutral colours - brown eyeshadow will make your eyes stand out more. Also a little more brown in the lips will help them stand out too - the pink is just a bit too close to your skin colour. It doesn't need to be a 'darker' colour - just needs *more* colour.
It does look really pretty, but I think you could make slight changes that would really make your great features pop. Mainly, your shadow should be reconsidered. Because it's so similar to your actual eye colour it really just mutes your eyes and blends them into the rest of your face, rather than making them pop and look stunning. For blue eyes, browns really work well. Try a medium brown on the lid, with a bit of a darker shade in the creases. Cover from the crease to brow bone in a nice taupe or vanilla shade, perhaps with a bit of shimmer to give you an extra glow. Top your eyes off with a brown liner and dark mascara and your eyes will really become more of a focal point.

You're so pretty, and I feel like this makeup is doing nothing to make your features stand out. All you notice is ';wow, that's some blue eyeshadow';. I don't think that the pale blue eyeshadow is flattering to your coloring. I also have blue eyes- brown eyeshadow would look much better on you %26amp; really make your eyes pop. You want people to notice your eyes, not the makeup. Also, you look like you need more mascara %26amp; a little more blush on your cheeks. The eyeliner looks good, though. Congrats %26amp; good luck!
I think it looks good. Remember, you want your makeup to be a little more dramatic on your wedding day so that you are able to see it in pictures kinda. ( you don't want to look like you have no makeup on) Just the illusion of a flawless face. My only suggestion is to add blush (or more, you can't tell) and maybe a more dramatic eye. Otherwise it looks great.
I'm going to be totally honest with you. You are very pretty and have gorgeous blue eyes. The greenish blue shadow not only does nothing for your complexion, but it washes out your pretty eyes. If you want light colors, try purples. Purple is really best for green eyes, but if you want to stay away from smokey, then try it. But my first suggestion is a smokey eye. And it doesn't have to be with black. Black, I think, might be too harsh for you anyway. Maybe do smokey with chocolate browns and golds. Your eyes will stand out like crazy and look just gorgeous in your photos.

I think it looks good, the blue sets off your eyes and you don't want to have a dark lipstick as that would look 'old woman-ish' and take the attention from your eyes. If I give any constructive criticism, it would be to define the eyebrows a bit more, give them a straighter line, fill in where the hairs are a little sparse.
No, no, no. You are such a pretty girl, and this makeup is not even doing you justice. That blue is distracting from your beautiful eyes. I would go with a much more natural look, like a soft taupe or a light chocolate eyeshadow. That blue isn't very flattering. I hope you're not offended, but I'm just being honest!
I am going to be brutally honest....I don't like it at all. Yes, your eyes stand out, but I don't think necessarily in a good way. Have your makeup more natural looking on your eyes, browns and taupes would be good, maybe a little pink for your green eyes. And your lips need some color, they are so washed out and just blend in with your skin.

I totally agree with everyone who is saying the blue shadow is taking away from your incredible blue eyes. As others have stated, browns and earth tones will really make your blue eyes stand out!
Just because she's a make up artist, doesn't mean she's a color expert. I had a makeover at Ulta last fall, and the ';artist'; insisted on using PINK to bring out the BLUE in my eyes. My eyes are actually a green-gray, and I told her I wished they were more green, but she was insistant that I needed to bring out the blue. I looked like my eyes were infected...it was horrible!

I totally agree with the others on the neutral colours - brown eyeshadow will make your eyes stand out more. Also a little more brown in the lips will help them stand out too - the pink is just a bit too close to your skin colour. It doesn't need to be a 'darker' colour - just needs *more* colour.
It does look really pretty, but I think you could make slight changes that would really make your great features pop. Mainly, your shadow should be reconsidered. Because it's so similar to your actual eye colour it really just mutes your eyes and blends them into the rest of your face, rather than making them pop and look stunning. For blue eyes, browns really work well. Try a medium brown on the lid, with a bit of a darker shade in the creases. Cover from the crease to brow bone in a nice taupe or vanilla shade, perhaps with a bit of shimmer to give you an extra glow. Top your eyes off with a brown liner and dark mascara and your eyes will really become more of a focal point.

You're so pretty, and I feel like this makeup is doing nothing to make your features stand out. All you notice is ';wow, that's some blue eyeshadow';. I don't think that the pale blue eyeshadow is flattering to your coloring. I also have blue eyes- brown eyeshadow would look much better on you %26amp; really make your eyes pop. I think it looks good. Remember, you want your makeup to be a little more dramatic on your wedding day so that you are able to see it in pictures kinda. ( you don't want to look like you have no makeup on) Just the illusion of a flawless face. My only suggestion is to add blush (or more, you can't tell) and maybe a more dramatic eye. Otherwise it looks great.
I'm going to be totally honest with you. You are very pretty and have gorgeous blue eyes. The greenish blue shadow not only does nothing for your complexion, but it washes out your pretty eyes. If you want light colors, try purples. Purple is really best for green eyes, but if you want to stay away from smokey, then try it. But my first suggestion is a smokey eye. And it doesn't have to be with black. Black, I think, might be too harsh for you anyway. Maybe do smokey with chocolate browns and golds. Your eyes will stand out like crazy and look just gorgeous in your photos.

I think it looks good, the blue sets off your eyes and you don't want to have a dark lipstick as that would look 'old woman-ish' and take the attention from your eyes. If I give any constructive criticism, it would be to define the eyebrows a bit more, give them a straighter line, fill in where the hairs are a little sparse.

I am going to be brutally honest....I don't like it at all. Yes, your eyes stand out, but I don't think necessarily in a good way. Have your makeup more natural looking on your eyes, browns and taupes would be good, maybe a little pink for your green eyes. And your lips need some color, they are so washed out and just blend in with your skin.

I went to an Aveda store and their make up is great. Natural looking and it smells good too. I was told to apply blush more than you normally would so it shows up well on the camera and also not to use light reflective or shimmery makeup as it photographs poorly.
I would got to Dillards its free and the make up stays on all day and night. I had my make up done there on my wedding day and it worked well.
air brushed makeup is fantastic! it's light weight and looks so good. mineral makeup is great too. i use it and have had so many less breakouts!

I agree with the previous answers, but would add asking the makeup counter girls for tips on making your make up last so that you don't have to worry about re-touching. I wedding takes up a long day and lets face it you don't want to keep having to disappear to the bathroom - you want to be at the party. I'd recommend finding skin care products such as Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, corrective products such as YSL Touche Eclat and also a good light loose face powder. A very light spray of rosewater or plain water after you finish will also help set your makeup. As you'll be photographed all day and from close up, you'll be able to stay the course. I'd ask your Mum or someone to take your lipstick and a powder compact with them so that you can do any minor repairs.
Finally I'd recommend going for a fairly neutral classic look - what looks great by todays fashion standards can look tacky in years to come. The actual colours really depend upon your complexion. I'm getting married in a few weeks, and have booked and paid a deposit for Nina Wren to do my trials and the day, (after some unanswered emails/phone messages). Earlier today I read on a wedding forum that some people have had some bad experiences using this person/company as they never return emails/messages. One girl with 2 weeks to go was very upset and ended up finding someone else as she said she couldn't be sure if the original company would turn up.
Yes, I have had problems with correspondance, but the occasions I've had answers she has been okay. Has anyone had any experience of this hair/makeup artist for their big day?

This site is world wide and I would imagine you aren't getting many answers because 99.95% of us have never heard of Nina Wren. If you contact her or her company she naturally is going to attempt to reassure you as her reputation is at stake. If this is already worrying you , you still are not going to feel happy. To me you have 2 choices. Presume you have only paid a deposit so for peace of mind you may be better to cut your loses, but if you have a contract read it carefully in case you are liable to pay more. Alternatively whichever country/area you live is the place to find out about this person/company. You could ask within a letter to your local newspaper or radio station which has a question spot. I would be careful not to say anything detrimental about Nina Wren as you could end up in trouble, just simply ask about any ones experience with them. Hopefully you will not require to give your name or address. If you are seriously considering still having this company then that would not be wise/ Hope this helps a little. Sorry not the answer you really want.

Call your local Mary Kay rep. Some of them will come over, do the bridal party's makeup free of charge and leave it up to the finished product to do the selling. There is no hard sell. They will apply makeup and such, tell you what it is and, leave it at that. More often than not, the ladies call them later and purchase product. On top of that, some of the representatives either do hair or know someone who does. Otherwise, take your chances using students from a local beauty college who want to practice what they have learned. Good luck!sunburns

Do you have a hairdresser/cosmetology school in your area? That is a good option as well. Make sure you do a dry run with your hair and your hair accessories before your wedding day. . .that way you will know your time frame, and you'll know that it will work out ok!

My complexion is fair and in good condition, so I find that a little moisturizer under a base with powder, blush light eye make-up and some gloss does me better than anything I have had done by a pro! That's TOO overdone.

1) Unless you are a regular patron of facials, don't get one within two weeks of your wedding. They can cause more harm than good that close as you don't yet know how your skin will react.
2) For facial hair removal before a wedding, tweeze, recently waxed areas often show up red in photos, even if they look normal to the naked eye.
3) If you've never had a full body wax, don't try it just before the wedding. The last thing you want is to have a bad reaction just before a wedding. If you have a few months to go though, start now and by wedding time you will be fine.
4) I can't say without seeing you in person what shades would look good on you as everyone, no matter how dark or light, has different undertones to their skin. What I would recommend is you either:
a) Doing your makeup yourself: spend some time at the makeup counter. Try different shades. Walk to the windows to get a look at the colors you like in both sunlight and artifical light.
b) Having your makeup done: tell your makeup artist you would like a preview. Get your makeup done twice, the first time about two weeks before the big day. Most artists include this in the ';bridal'; makeup charge, that is why ';bridal'; costs a little more that a generic makeup application. Where I work you pay for the whole thing at the practice run, and do not pay again on the day of. DON'T be afraid to tell the makeup artist if you don't like something. She doesn't have to live with the photos, you do. AND, she wants you to be happy with the results.

Aveda do lovely bridal make up in natural tones and its paraben and other nasty stuff free (I have very sensitive skin and use Aveda). Its also very very good quality. Aveda is sold in hotel spas (like Mar Hall in Scotland) and at House of Fraser stores and also online.
PS. I think a nice pinky tone would look lovely on fair skin at your wedding. Something subtle.

I've got really fair skin too and for my wedding this year, I got a great foundation for a clean, radiant base, I used a liquid blusher for a light flush of pink on my cheeks and a light dusting of powder all over to keep the matte look.
The only thing that I went a little heavier on were my eyes, as I wanted them to show up great on the pictures. Normally I don't bother, but I'd seen photos of a friends wedding and she looked a little washed out in the pictures. She was wearing light makeup on the day, but due to the flash, lighting at the church and outside, it kind of made her look like she wasn't wearing anything at all.
So, I defined my eyes with a taupe eyeliner, used a fawn shimmery eyeshadow and then a dusty grey colour for the corner of my eyes to make them really pop, finished off by some black mascara.
And, I have to say, I got so many compliments, I felt happy and comfortable with what I had on, and I looked good! (even if I do say so myself!) Hope you have a lovely day! :-)

This causes a washout of the face when the camera flash reflects off the 'invisible metals';
I don't have any pictures of the differences, but I can tell you a couple.
